The German countertenor and sopranist, Valer Barna-Sabadus (with stress on the last syllabe), was born 1986 in Arad (Romania) and moved to Germany at the age of five. He started his musical studies in piano and violin and continued his education at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, where he began to study as a countertenor with Prof. Gabriele Fuchs. At the age of only 21 he gave his debut in Handel's Rinaldo. Already his first Solo-CD won the "Deutscher Schallplattenpreis 2012".

Concentrating on operas and oratorios of the Baroque era, he also sings contemporary music. An estimate for his range is:
