The young French sopranist Paul Laumont (21 years old in 2001) began at the age of 7 to sing with the Petits Chanteurs du Palais-Royal in Carcassonne, parallel to a profound musical education (piano and interpretation). Already as a treble, he sang solo parts. After his change of voice, he has continued to sing in the soprano range.

Currently, he seems to perform mainly sacred music of the Baroque Era, an estimate of his range is, according to his CD:
b - b'' (B3 - B5).
