Q: What is the difference between "countertenor" and "sopranist"?
A:Essentially simply the range of their voices. Both types
of singers are usually falsettists. A very rough (and sometimes incorrect)
distinction is that the "natural voices" of countertenors are baritones or
basses, that of sopranists tenors. There is, however, some training and
technique required for the upper part of the voice. For some
special cases see the introduction.
Q: Where can I find all those CDs?
A:All CDs with no special remark should be available in any good
CD store or online
CD store, in Europe you will find most of them at jpc. Some CDs, however are private or
limited editions. The three French sopranists frequently perform together with
the glassharmonica player and composer Thomas
Bloch. More details can be found on
his home page. For CD orders
